I am sure you are sick of the crime rate and the bullying given to us; peace loving friendly Malaysian.
It is really time to show them that we can make a difference by standing up to crime !
HOW TO STAND UP ?
- We need to work with fellow Malaysians to cooperate and throw away "Tak Peduli" "Tak Apa" attitude. Be Nosy ! Be friendly!
- We need to report crime to police.. Leave it to the police to investigate. Do not assume that police are doing nothing !
- ALWAYS Attract attention in a crisis!
- Learn practical tactics and techniques from REPUTABLE instrucors. How to know if he is reputable.. challenge the instructor to prove the technique / lesson ! Observe the his/her behaviour and reaction .. you will know if he is genuine or not :)
- Create/ join a security community in the area you live in
- Form a network within your community / workplace- be proactive
- You dont need to have a black belt in anything to save lives.. a simple shout and scream and the gathering of a group of people is enough to scare away assailants..
- An angry mob is a scary opponent.. or else Zombie movies wont sell !
WHY ARE WE IN THIS PREDICAMENT?
City life has changed us to become isolated, unfriendly and living in silo.
Gone are the days when we use to know who our neighbours are.. the check & balance system in a community is GONE.
The influx of foreign residents have made it more challenging to stay cohesive due to the diverse culture and background
What should I do ?
- Be a vigilante- report crime, intervene if YOU are CONFIDENT
- Collect Balai Polis phone number; know your community Police Commanding Officer!
Learn self defense tactics from reputable instructors only; differentiate martial art from tactical self defense techniques
REMEMBER:
The first to respond to any situation is YOURSELF and the person physically closest to you.. be it a co-worker, relative, or even a neighbour.
Knowledge is key to survival !
This blog aims to give you as much street-wise information as possible so that you can live safely..
A little paranoia goes a long way
Not asking you to be totally paranoid of everything but just a little fuels your awareness and can save lives.. prevention is the key !
